The Graduate

Where has the time gone???  I remember finding out I was pregnant with this little monkey.  I remember all the fun things we did just her and I.  We spent a LOT of time shopping, and at the zoo, and just hanging out.  Now she has almost completed her first year of school.  Really, I have no idea where the time has gone.  We have lived here in Queen Creek for 7 years now.  She is 6 years old.  It's really amazing how much older she looks in this school pic compared to the one at the first of the year.  And even more amazing how time flies.  I am so proud of this munchkin and all that she has accomplished this year.  She has really grown up a lot this year.  She is mamas big helper girl and the best sister ever.  Congrats on graduating kindergarten my big Alexis Dawn!  I love you!  Now stop growing!!!

This is what OLD looks like

So, as you all know, this year I turned 30.  Freaking old!  Anyway, my birthday was fabulous!  My hubby took me out to dinner at the Blue Wasabi.  We had fabulous sushi out on the patio, and they made me a desert that looked like a roll.  So cute and delish!  Cody and the girls got me a spa day which I used the next day with my BFF Marmmett.  We had a massage, a wrap, foot dessert, cold stone hot towel facial, and the works.  It was so relaxing.  I could have stayed there all weekend!  On Saturday night we had a few friends and family over for a mexican fiesta.  However, I see that I really have no pictures of that except me blowing out the 30 candles on the beautiful cake that my girls made for me!  I loved it!  And we had to have the fire department on standby in case the candles on the cake got out of hand!  Cody couldn't even get the candles lit fast enough!  The first ones he lit were melting all over the cake by the time he could get to the last ones.  It was quite comical!  We had a great time and great conversations out on the patio until the wee hours of the night!  Thank you so much to everyone that made my birthday so special.  It ALMOST makes me not feel so very old!  Almost...

30

Today is the day.  The big 3-0.  I am really 30 today!  Good gravy!  I am super cranky today too!  This has just really been a hard birthday for me and I have no idea why!  I just think that 30 is so freaking old!  I remember when my parents were in their 30s and I thought they were dinosaurs and could never imagine being 30!  I met Cody when I was 15.  I could ever imagine us being 30, and here we are.  Halfway to 60.  Well, I guess it must mean that it is time to grow up!  :)  Lots of festivities planned so stay tuned!

Bikers

So, Cody and I have talked about getting bikes to ride around the neighborhood pretty much ever since we moved here.  That was 7 years ago!  The girls have a million bikes and ride them all the time, but just around the block and stuff with us.  One night I was at Walmart at midnight (I know, why?!).  They had a couple bikes in the front for adults at like 30% off!  I was so excited and bought them right then!  Well, turns out Cody didn't really like the mens one I bought so the next day we took that one back and got hime the mother of all bikes!  Its huge!  And then the girls decided they needed new bikes and wanted to spend their birthday money on new bikes!  So we all got new bikes that weekend and have been riding them around town ever since!  I wasn't sure if we would really use them, but we have used them quite a bit!  Avery is doing really good on her big girl bike, and Alexis is a dare devil on hers!  I am constantly having to tell her to slow down because I am afraid she is going to bite the dust!  And I am happy to report that I have not fallen once, which is a really good thing since I have Miss Ree on the back for the long rides!

"Speedy Bingolez" as Avery calls her!
Don't mind the helmet!  I bought her one that actually fits!  This is just one she found in the garage!

My minivan bike!

I don't have a pic of Cody on his!  I will get that and add it soon!

PGA Tour

Cody bought me some golf clubs for my birthday 2 years ago and he finally took me out to use them!  We went to a driving range at a course here in Anthem in Queen Creek.  The place was gorgeous!  Cody and I hit some balls (like 70 each!), and there was plenty of room for the girls to practice putting behind us!  They loved it!  Alexis is actually really good at golf, perhaps we should get her some lessons!  Anyway, I rocked that driving range.  Pretty much I should be on the PGA tour.  Ask Cody.  :)  I will say, however that I was sore for about 5 days after!  Golfing really uses muscles I haven't used pretty much ever!  It was a lot of fun though, and I really do want to go back and maybe actually golf on the course.  Watch out Tiger!

Easter 2010

This year Easter was pretty laid back.  We had had a very busy month, and did not feel like traveling to Prescott or somewhere else to do the big family thing, so we stayed home.  The girls colored eggs, hunted eggs in the backyard, and got their baskets from the bunny.  Cody's parents were visiting for the weekend, so we also went for a quad ride.  Alexis did so good on her quad all by herself, and we really enjoyed the warm weather.  We packed a picnic lunch and ate it on the ride.  Only one problem...someone forgot the utencils!  Luckily we had a few crescent wrenches in the quads!  I know, hillbilly!  But hey, it worked and we had a blast!

The filthy kids asleep in the back seat of the buggy is always a good sign that the ride was a success!

6 Years old

Alexis' Birthday fell on spring break, so the first day back to school she got this heat to wear all day.  I love it! Super cute!

Alexis Dawn is 6 years old

Alexis turned 6 years old on March 22.  She is seriously the best kid ever.  She almost always listens, wants to be a helper, loves her mom, dad and sister more than anything in the world and is almost always smiling or being goofy!  This year with her being in school, we deiced to have more of a friend party than an extended family party.  It turned out really good and the kids had a blast.  We rented a jumper and had cupcakes and ice cream and sub sandwiches.  Alexis loved having all her friends over for her special day!  Happy Birthday Miss Alexis Dawn!

Avery didn't like the jumper so she jumped on the tramp all day!

More Spring Break!

I would say that the zoo is one of my most favorite places to visit!  Over spring break we took the girls to the Phoenix Zoo for the day.  It happened to be St. Patricks Day, as you may guess from the attire we are sporting!  We have had a annual pass to the zoo ever since we have had kids, so we try to get there as often as we can before it gets to be scorching hot!  The girlies loved all the animals and all the food, and the adults had a great time as well!

The whole gang! Me, Cody, Steph, Avery, Alexis and Trista
Love their faces!
This little rodent was Avery's best friend!
I guess the theme of the day was silly faces!

Gotta love these silly girls! :) (and boy!)
