Alexis' dance recital June 2009

Alexis had her second dance recital this year on June 7. She did so awesome. This year she was in 2 dances, one tap and one ballet. It is so much fun and rewarding to see the excitement on your daughters face because she did well on something she had worked hard on for so long. She loves her teacher Miss Angie and has made many friends. It was sort of bittersweet this year because while it was only her second, it will be her last, at least for now. As much as she enjoyed it she says she doesn't want to do dance anymore. So, I will let her make that decision! She wants to try new things like martial arts and football. Ya, that's right, prissy Alexis wants to try martial arts and football. We shall see!

Sissy

The other night we went to pizza for dinner. I know, I really need to learn to cook, but whatever. That is besides the point! Avery was talking to Alexis and trying to get her attention. I hear her say, "Alexis blah, blah, blah..." (I wasn't really paying attention!). Then I saw Alexis give her the look of death and with pure disgust on her face say, "Avery, don't call me Alexis! I am your sister and you can only call me sissy." I though it was so freaking cute! We have always just called them both sissy when referring to each other because I guess it was easy. I didn't realize how much it means to Alexis to be called sissy by her beloved little sister. I love that they love each other so much and have such a special bond. Now if only Avery can remember to not call Alexis by her name, no one will get hurt!

Trailer daze

We went camping for Memorial day weekend with some freinds and family. It was a lot of fun, and the weather was beautiful. It was us, Cody's parents, sister Steph, our niece Trista, Cody's cousin Ryan and his girlfriend Lauren, and our friends Marmmett and Toni.

Build a Bear...Again

So a few weeks ago the girls and I met Steph and Trista my niece at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. And guess what happened! I got conned in to more Build a Bear! Imagine that! Avery got a cat that she named Polar Bear, Alexis got a bear she named Crystal and Trista got a lamb she named Lambie. All very original names if I do say so myself. The girls had a blast though and I got off much cheaper this time!

Backyard fun

This is the time of year we really start to enjoy our backyard. The kids only want to be outside, so since its really hot, we play in water! This is Ariel's first summer so she is getting used to the heat, most of the time her tongue is hanging to the ground, but she loves the water too!
